MEDICARE REBATE

I am a registered provided with Medicare.

In order to claim a rebate under the Better Access Initiative you will need a current referral from your General Practitioner. If you meet criteria your General Practitioner will complete a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) under the Better Access Initiative and provide an associated referral to a Psychologist. This provides you access to up to 10 rebated psychology sessions in a calendar year.

The current Medicare rebate is $141.85 per session. Please note re-referral from your General Practitioner is required after session 6 and 10 to continue receiving rebates; at these points in therapy a report is required to be provided from your treating Psychologist to the referring General Practitioner with general information, updates on treatment and progress as well as recommendations for future care.

Full consultation fee is required at the time of consultation and your medicare claim will be submitted on your behalf (rebates are then paid by Medicare into your nominated bank account).

PRIVATE HEALTH

If you have private health insurance, you may be eligible to claim partial costs of your Clinical Psychology consultation fees. Please seek advice direct from your insurer.

SELF REFERRALS

You do not need a referral to book an appointment with me. If you would prefer to not visit your General Practitioner for a referral or are not eligible under the Medicare Better Access Initiative you can simply make an appointment. Please note that self-referred clients are required to pay the full cost of sessions at their own expense.

REPORTS

Held Clinical Psychology does not provide treatment under WorkCover arrangements, assessment reports, medico-legal reports or letters / reports for other court purposes.

A word on inclusivity and accessibility

Held Clinical Psychology welcomes those who identify as women from all walks of life, including those who are part of the LGBTQIA+  community, as well as women of all different abilities (please note stairs are required to access my office, which will unfortunately limit some access), races, ethnicities, religions, cultures and relationship or family structures.

Held Clinical Psychology is a service aimed at offering specialist support and therapy to those who identify as women, with a  special focus on those going through periods of transition, those in caring roles and those on a mothering journey. This is not designed to deny service to others but to honour the unique needs of this group and also as a reflection of my strengths, desired impact and extensive experience in this space, as well as my continued specialist training.

Relationships are an integral piece and location of the healing during the perinatal period and as recognition of this, family participation is warmly welcomed and encouraged for clients during this developmental period. An open invitation is extended to partners, babies and children where the primary client remains the mother and/or mother-infant dyad.

CANCELLATION POLICY

I require 2 days notice if you are unable to attend an appointment. This is a courtesy to me and also to other clients who require care, and may be on my waitlist. You will receive a reminder SMS 3 days before each appointment allowing time to ensure you are able to attend.

Outside of an unforeseen crisis or illness, if an appointment is cancelled within 2 days, a $100 fee will apply. If an appointment is not attended or cancelled within 6 hours of the appointment, the full fee will apply. Cancelled appointments cannot be rebated through Medicare and the fee will be deducted from the credit card details provided at the time of booking.
